Yaskawa JANCD-CG20 Graphic CPU Board
JANCD-CG20 is an early graphic and communication CPU board from Yaskawa JANCD series, with the official part number DF8202624. It is specially developed for legacy YASNAC CNC systems and early Motoman robot controllers. This board focuses on basic display control and serial data communication. It has been discontinued by the manufacturer, so refurbished and used units are the main choices for equipment maintenance nowadays. It belongs to an independent sub-series and is not a direct successor to CG01 through CG06 models.
Description
Model Definition
JANCD is the unified prefix for Yaskawa printed circuit boards used in CNC and robot controllers. CG stands for Graphic and Communication. The number 20 represents an early hardware version of graphic boards, which adopts different circuit design and structural layout compared with later CG01 to CG06 series.
Technical Specifications
Electrical Parameters
The board is powered by 5 V DC and ±12 V DC supplied from the controller backplane. It is equipped with a dedicated graphic processor supporting only 2D image processing without 3D rendering capability. It is fitted with display interfaces for monochrome CRT and LCD screens, as well as RS-232 serial ports and dedicated ports for operator panel signals. Ethernet connectivity is not available on this model.
Mechanical & Environmental Parameters
It adopts standard slot installation for legacy controller racks. The overall dimension measures approximately 320 mm × 150 mm × 30 mm, and the weight ranges from 0.68 kg to 0.8 kg. The rated operating temperature is from 0 °C to 50 °C. The protection class is IP20, and conformal coating is not applied on the circuit board based on original design.
Core Functions
It drives monochrome CRT and LCD screens to display machining programs, axis coordinates, system alarms and diagnostic information. It receives and processes input signals from MDI keyboards, manual pulse generators and function keys to realize basic human-machine interaction. The built-in RS-232 interface is used for CNC program upload and download, as well as connection with simple peripheral devices. It takes charge of screen refreshing and signal scanning tasks to reduce the workload of the main CPU and improve overall system response.
Application Scenarios
This board is primarily applied to early YASNAC J10, J20 and J30 CNC systems, which are widely installed on conventional lathes, milling machines and machining centers. It is also compatible with early versions of Motoman XRC robot controllers. It is only used as a replacement part for maintenance of old automation equipment and is not suitable for upgrading modern systems.
Compatibility & Notes
This model is physically and functionally incompatible with CG01 to CG06 series due to different hardware circuits, pin definitions and firmware. Since the product has been discontinued, all replacement units are mostly second-hand or refurbished, and thorough testing is required before installation. It only supports monochrome display and basic serial communication, lacking color display and Ethernet functions. For maintenance of legacy equipment, please select the matching JANCD-CG20. For new projects or system upgrades, choose updated models such as CG06.
