Product Overview

The Bently Nevada 3300/20-12-01-01-00-01 is a professional dual-channel thrust position monitor belonging to the Bently Nevada 3300 Series Turbine Supervisory Instrumentation developed by Baker Hughes. This module adopts non-contact measurement principle based on eddy current technology, which is specially used for continuous online monitoring of axial thrust position of rotating machinery shafts. It can effectively track the axial displacement of the rotor relative to the thrust bearing, timely detect abnormal axial load, thrust bearing wear and other potential faults, and avoid serious mechanical accidents such as rotor and stator collision. Equipped with two independent signal input channels, built-in high-precision signal conditioning circuit, complete self-diagnosis function and alarm relay output, the module supports hot-swap installation on standard 19-inch racks and can work together with other modules of the 3300 series. The product complies with API 670 industrial standards, features stable operation and strong anti-interference ability, and is widely applied to the safety monitoring and protection of various large key rotating equipment in industrial sites.

Basic Information

Model is 3300/20-12-01-01-00-01, manufactured by Bently Nevada under Baker Hughes. It is categorized as dual-channel thrust position monitor and belongs to the 3300 Series TSI system. The module is installed on 19-inch standard industrial racks and supports hot swap without system shutdown. The operating power is supplied by the system backplane with -24 VDC and the allowable voltage fluctuation range is ±10%. The overall dimension is designed to match the standard rack, with a typical weight of approximately 1.0 kilogram. The protection grade is IP20, which is suitable for installation inside indoor industrial control cabinets. This product meets CE and RoHS requirements and fully conforms to API 670 specifications for rotating machinery monitoring instruments.

Function & Positioning

This module is a core monitoring and protection unit for axial thrust position of rotating machinery, mainly positioned to protect thrust bearings and main shafts of large rotating equipment. It receives signals from two eddy current proximity probes, processes and linearizes the collected displacement signals to realize real-time measurement of shaft axial position. The module is configured with one set of alarm relay output, which can be linked with on-site alarm devices or control loops to send alarm signals when the axial displacement exceeds the preset threshold. Users can complete parameter setting locally through the front panel or remotely via the upper computer system, and the adjustable alarm delay function can effectively eliminate false alarms caused by instantaneous signal fluctuation. The built-in comprehensive self-diagnosis system continuously monitors power supply status, internal circuits, probe signal loops and relay operating conditions, so as to quickly locate faults and reduce maintenance time. As an important part of the 3300 TSI system, it can communicate with System 1 platform as well as on-site DCS, PLC and SCADA systems to realize data uploading, trend analysis and equipment predictive maintenance management.

Core Performance Parameters

The module has two completely independent measurement channels for thrust position detection. It is compatible with standard Bently Nevada eddy current proximity probes and matched signal converters. The standard measurement range is ±1.0 mm, and the overall measurement accuracy is maintained within a small error range to ensure long-term stable detection. The input impedance of the signal channel meets industrial design standards, and the signal response speed is fast to capture transient displacement changes in time. The working power is -24 VDC, and the overall power consumption is controlled at a low level. It is equipped with one sealed SPDT alarm relay, and the contact rated load is 2 A at 24 VDC, which can directly drive on-site alarm and interlock circuits. The isolation performance between input circuit and power circuit reaches 2500 VAC, delivering excellent electromagnetic interference resistance. There is no analog output on this model. The applicable operating temperature ranges from 0 degrees Celsius to 65 degrees Celsius, and the allowable storage temperature ranges from -40 degrees Celsius to 85 degrees Celsius. The working relative humidity is 5% to 95% with no condensation allowed in the operating environment.

General Compatible Accessories

Matched accessories include Bently Nevada 3300 XL series and 7200 series eddy current proximity probes, which are the core sensing components for displacement collection. Supporting high-frequency low-noise coaxial signal cables are used to connect probes and signal processing units to ensure signal transmission quality. Special signal converters for eddy current probes are required to cooperate with the probes for signal conversion. It also supports 3300 series standard 19-inch installation racks and matched backplanes that provide power supply and system communication buses. The 3300/10 series redundant power supply module can provide stable operating power for the whole system. Users can complete parameter configuration and status viewing through the local panel keypad and the supporting System 1 upper computer software.

Applicable Equipment & Industries

This monitoring module is applicable to various large rotating equipment including steam turbines, gas turbines and turbo-generator sets, as well as centrifugal compressors, axial compressors and large industrial blowers. It also fits multistage process pumps, high-speed driving motors and turbo expanders used in industrial production. In terms of application industries, it is widely used in power generation industry for monitoring and protection of turbine and generator units in thermal power and nuclear power plants. It serves oil, gas and petrochemical industry to ensure the safe operation of compressors and process pumps under complex working conditions. It is also commonly deployed in metallurgy, air separation and chemical industries to monitor various critical high-speed rotating machinery and guarantee the continuous and stable operation of production lines.
